Comprehensive Transmission Filter Range
Today’s modern transmissions & their advanced technological design depend heavily on near-perfect lubrication to function, therefore a high-quality filter is required to ensure proper filtration of oil before it’s delivered to the transmission. This filter ensures the delivery of high purity of the oil and thus provides protection to the sensitive transmission components ensuring their reliable performance.
The filter design, filtering medium, and housing material are important key factors in establishing that the transmission filter is of high quality. There are several different types of transmission filters like compact flat filters, spin-on filters; suction filters that sit in the oil sump or pressure filters used in the newest CVT & DSG gearboxes.
ALCO Filters has started introducing since 2008 transmission filters for Passenger Cars (European, Japanese & Korean). The range keeps growing year by year and now ALCO Filters transmission filters are more than 80 part numbers.
A clogged transmission filter can obstruct fluid flow and cause several problems (slipping or partially engaged the transmission, difficulty in gear engagement and other shifting issues). Also most importantly, dirty, unfiltered transmission oil causes more than 75% of all transmission system failures.
What are the signs that the transmission filter needs to be changed?
The answer is simple:
Noise. If you hear clunking or rattling, or if the transmission shifts hard with a jarring effect, you might want to check the transmission filter.
Can't Change Gears.
Burning Smell or Smoke.
Most automobile manufacturers recommend a transmission filter change every 2 years, or every 20,000 miles (whichever comes first). When your mechanic replaces the filter, he or she should also change the fluid, and replace the transmission pan gasket.
